The below information is for the 2019/2020 financial year and applicable to Australian residents only.
To help make tax time a bit easier, you shouldn’t need a Private Health Insurance Statement to complete your tax return online or through a tax agent. This information should be included in your online tax return when you select the pre-fill option, and your tax agent, if you use one, should also be able to access the information. A Private Health Insurance Statement should only be required if your policy details have not been pre-filled, or if you use a paper tax return.
If you need a copy of your Private Health Insurance Statement, you can download a copy from the self-service portal from 6 July 2020. You can also access statements and information for previous years on the portal.
