Do I need a wearable?

iOS users
You do not need a wearable if you are using an iPhone 5s and above, or an iPod Touch 5th gen and above. You can track your activity just by using the Apple device. You will need to carry your iPhone or iPod to track your activity.

If you are using an iPhone 5 or 5c, you will also need a compatible wearable tracker — such as a Fitbit — to track activity.

To determine whether your wearable tracker syncs with Health, please check with the device manufacturer.


Android users

You can track your steps and cycling just by using your phone by downloading the free Google Fit App. You will need to carry your phone to track your activity.
